The MCF works to foster partnerships between
universities in developing countries and universities that model
quality education and servant leadership in North America.
These partnerships are mutually beneficial to each university
involved, as they exchange people, information and resources and as
international friendships are formed.
The MCF currently works with...
Northwest Nazarene University, Nampa, Idaho;
Concordia University, Portland, Oregon;
and
George Fox University, Portland, Oregon
to provide partnerships to...
The Kazakh-American Free University, Oskemen, Kazakhstan
and
Kyiv National Linguistic University, Kyiv, Ukraine
Through these partnerships, the MCF promotes the following programs
and initiatives:
Visiting Scholars. In this program, faculty travel to a
partnering university to teach courses, to learn and and to share
information. American faculty often travel to international
universities for 2-3 weeks to teach course intensives. Another
example of this is the Visiting International Professor ("VIP")
program, where international faculty come to the United States for
one month to learn more about teaching methods and leadership in
higher education.
Student Exchanges and Scholarships. In these programs,
students study at a partnering university for up to 2 years.
The MCF works with American universities to provide scholarships for
top international students who show strong leadership potential for
their home university and country. Opportunities also exist
for American students to study abroad for 1 semester or 1 year.
Consulting and Curriculum Development. In these programs,
individuals from American universities assist international
universities with program and curriculum development and assistance
on American accreditation standards and procedures.
